Projects TelcosSMART Enhancements MISTRE and CASEY Trees Turn Restrictions Emergency Maps Real Property Database |
Turn Restrictions Geo Imaging Consulting, Inc. and GeoDecisions are
currently collecting data sets on turn restrictions within the City.
These data-sets will support the RouteSmart™ (ESRI) routing
application for the Department of Public Works (DPW) and will allow
the DPW to route trash trucks, snow ploughs, emergency vehicles
and other government vehicles efficiently. Teams of students recruited
by Geo Imaging Consulting from local Universities, equipped with
state-of-the-art tablet PCs, are driving the streets of Washington,
DC surveying all intersections for turn restriction data. A data
collection tool created in MapObjects™ software is used to
automate the data collection process on the tablet PCs. |
