Projects TelcosSMART Enhancements MISTRE and CASEY Trees Turn Restrictions Emergency Maps Real Property Database |
Mistre and CASEY Trees The District of Columbia operates a legacy database
for street (and ornamental) trees. This MISTRE database was outdated
and contained largely incorrect information. Geo Imaging Consulting
was tasked to reconcile the tree information in the MISTRE database
using the CASEY tree database (developed by the CASEY Tree foundation),
a more reliable database. This solution involved programmatically
(using ArcObjects) determining for each entry in the CASEY database,
which MISTRE tree was best matched and validating that entry in
the MISTRE database. Unmatched trees were purged. This project was
completed in a record time of 2 weeks and gave the DC government
a cleaner tree database to work with. |
