Telcos Recently, there has been a boom in telecommunications
accompanied by the laying of fiber-optic cables in most major cities.
In Washington DC, this has resulted in a constant digging of the
streets with its attendant traffic congestion and customer complaints.
To alleviate this situation and coordinate digging, all telecommunications
firms were directed to file the locations where they were likely
to excavate in the next 2-years. These locations were then analyzed
with a GIS system and all co-locating opportunities were identified
and mapped by Geo Imaging Consulting, Inc. Telecommunication firms
took advantage of these opportunities to schedule diggings with
minimal impact on traffic and citizenry. |
